Working on the Admin panel

Written by: Adam on: April 15, 2012

As Aisis Theme its self comes a long according to my planned Aisis Development Schedule, the core its self is relatively stable as well, with minimal breaks and crashes. For the most part the whole frame work is coming along nicely and is looking to be a promising new product for WordPress theme designer, developer and people who are just looking for a new theme.

The Theme

The theme its self is pretty much done.  It meets the HTML5 requirements by the W3C and the CSS, with a few invalid mark ups – is mostly valid, clean and easy to use and read for theme side of things. Every this is on schedule and in progress.

The Admin Panel

This is a whole other beast. The core look and feel of the admin panel is coming along slowly. Much like the theme it’s self-everything must be perfect. However one up side is that it does not have to be responsive :D .

The other beast is the features. What features should I add, what abilities should I give the person who wants to change the theme without it being a complicated mess.

Developers are going to be working with the functions and the classes that lay behind the scenes but designers are going to want to change the css and the html and then there’s the average user who might want a full width view of the site but don’t want to edit anything.

There are a lot of things to think about in terms of what I want to give you, the user and how I want to set it all up so that it’s easy for everyone but still powerful.

I have been researching different theme frameworks; both paid for and free in order to see what they did with their admin panel both design wise and option wise.

There is a lot of research going on that I am proud of and excited about.

Conclusion

With the core theme done and the functions associated with it working, I am not working on the Admin panel and a couple other areas of the site to improve performance, error handling and more. Don’t forget to check out the AisisDoc – the home of all the ever changing documentation for the framework.
